Figurspel/Spartan Games/Dystopian Wars/Prussian Empire
The core feature that is common to almost all Prussian ships is Tesla coil weaponry, which is often fitted on two or three firing arcs giving Prussian ships several close range attacks. The Emperor Class Battleship and Reiver Class Cruiser also have main turrets and broadsides batteries, so that across the range of the Prussian ships their close range firepower can be devastating.
The advantage of Tesla coils is that whenever they are fired they have the capacity to kill some of the rocket marine complement of enemy ships. Over the course of a battle this can add up, and given that Prussian ships generally have a higher complement of marines than the ships of other fleets, they can perform quite effective boarding assaults in the latter part of any battle.
This propensity for boarding has informed the design of Prussian ships so that they have high anti-rocket defences (which can also be used against rocket marines); they also have high anti-torpedo defences in response to the reliance on torpedoes by Britannian fleets. Prussian ships are generally faster than other ships, allowing them to take advantage of their aft firing Tesla coils.
The Emperor Class Battleship has three turrets with two on the forward decks, making a Prussian Battle Group a fearsome proposition on a slow approach, although it is in the interests of Prussian commanders to turn and flank enemy formations to bring more turrets to bear. The Blucher Class Dreadnought raises this to four turrets, while the Rhine Fleet Carrier is armed with a Bombard so that it can support the rest of its Battle Group from a safe distance.
Prussian Battle Groups are supported by the Wachter Class Escort, with additional secondary firepower to back up larger vessels, and the Stolz Class Destroyer that also has secondary guns, with which a squadron of such ships can combine for a more powerful barrage. They both sacrifice anti-flying and anti-diving defences for more firepower.
It is a common sight to see flying craft in support of Prussian Battle Groups, the Gewitterwolke Class Airship and Imperium Class Sky Fortress are good examples of such. They have the advantage of greater manoeuvrability and targeting options, where surface vessels are obstructed by terrain and other ships. Both craft are fitted with Tesla coils, decent anti-rocket/flying defences and a large complement of rocket marines. They are capable of carrying out close range attacks and boarding assaults, with the additional threat of bomb racks with which they can over fly and harass surface vessels.
