Available in far fewer quantities than the 25mm SA-34 Hotchkiss gun, the 47mm SA-37 proved to be the best anti-tank gun on the battlefields of 1939-40.
This highly accurate gun was capable of penetrating up to 89mm at a range of 500m, more than enough to penetrate the armour of any German tank of the period. So impressed were they by the gun’s performance, the Germans were quick to turn any captured examples against their former owners.
